Arrests announced more than a year after daytime attack in Beverly Hills shopping district

Five Oakland residents have been arrested and charged in connection with a daytime robbery that unfolded on North Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills during the 2024 holiday shopping period. The case centers on an incident that occurred at about 1:20 p.m. on November 23, 2024, in the 400 block of North Rodeo Drive, a corridor that draws heavy pedestrian traffic and high-end retail customers.

Authorities allege four suspects approached two victims on the sidewalk outside a retail location, with at least one suspect displaying a firearm. Investigators say the encounter turned physical, leaving both victims assaulted. The male victim was struck in the back of the head with a firearm, while the female victim was knocked to the ground and kicked, according to law enforcement accounts of the attack.

What investigators say was taken, and how the suspects allegedly fled

In the November 2024 incident, investigators reported that property taken from the victims included handbags and cash, and police later said an engagement ring was also stolen. Video of the robbery circulated publicly soon after the incident and showed suspects fleeing on foot immediately after the attack.

Investigators allege the four suspects ran from the scene and entered a rental vehicle driven by a fifth suspect. The case remained open as detectives worked to identify those involved and establish their movements before and after the robbery.

  • Date and time: November 23, 2024, about 1:20 p.m.

  • Location: 400 block of North Rodeo Drive, Beverly Hills

  • Suspected roles: four alleged direct participants; one alleged driver

Suspects identified; mix of adult and teen defendants

Police identified the arrested suspects as Kingikirah Stevenson, 31; D’Angelo Tedla, 22; and three 18-year-olds: Kingelijah Stevenson, Wendel Stevenson, and Jaeyden Duncan. Authorities said some suspects were juveniles at the time of the alleged offenses.

Charging documents described a set of allegations that include robbery and conspiracy. Additional counts for some defendants include assault with a deadly weapon, reflecting the reported use of a firearm and the injuries described by investigators.

Interagency work and next steps in court

Authorities said Beverly Hills detectives worked with a U.S. Marshals task force to locate and arrest the suspects in Oakland. The defendants were then transported back to Beverly Hills for proceedings.

The five defendants are being held as the case moves through the court system, with trial proceedings pending.

The arrests place renewed attention on the November 2024 Rodeo Drive incident, which occurred in a highly visible public setting and involved allegations of force against two victims. Court action will determine how the allegations are tested and whether the charges are sustained.
